Solid growth continues - two new high-end mass spectrometers installed
7 September 2017
To respond to the growing demand for our services, we have installed two new mass spectrometers from Thermo Fisher Scientific; a recently introduced TSQ Quantis™ triple quadrupole and yet another Q Exactive™ Orbitrap. Both mass spectrometers are accompanied by Vanquish™ Horizon UHPLC systems.
We are excited to be one of the very first laboratories in the world to have a TSQ Quantis™ triple quadrupole instrument installed. This new top-of-the-line mass spectrometer delivers great robustness and high-end sensitivity. It will be utilised for quantification in high sensitivity demanding bioanalytical assays, further broadening our analytical capabilities and capacity as an addition to our other triple quadrupole instruments.
Q-Exactive™ Orbitrap is a perfect tool for metabolite profiling and identification workflows due to its high-resolution capabilities. The instrument is also well suitable for quantitative bioanalysis due to its excellent dynamic range and spectacular sensitivity and specificity. Using the Orbitrap’s high-resolution approach, we can re-process the data existing from PK studies or metabolic stability assays, to also elucidate metabolite structures and metabolite profiles without any extra lab work or analyses. This newest addition brings the total number of Q Exactive™ Orbitraps in our laboratory to three; guaranteeing high capacity and short turnaround times.
